MNFI has awarded over $5.6 million in grants
The MN Fundraising Initiative grant program gives MN Adults and Kids the opportunities to achieve their full potential via sports and education.
We currently offer the following grants for Q4 2024
- Educational K-12/College Tuition
Our grant application deadlines are March 15th, June 15th, September 15th, and December 15th.
The Grant Committee reads every application and then meets in person to select the recipients. Our notification dates are on or before the 10th of the following month. (April, July, October, January). This gives the Grant Committee time to review and verify all documentation.
Tentative 2025 grant schedule:
- Grants for the arts (January/February)
- Sports-related (March/April)
- College/University Housing (May/June)
- K-12 Education related expenses (July/August)
- Educational K-College Tuition (September/October)
- School Computers (November/December)
Our grant application deadlines are February 15th, April 15th, June 15th, August 15th, October 15th and December 15th.
How to complete the grant form
- The grant form must be completed in full. (You must be 21 or older to complete the grant form)
- Grants must go directly to the business/School.
- Applications must have 2 references from a teacher or coach. Teacher/coach recommendations should be an honest appraisal of a student’s academic/sporting performance. Grant applications with only teacher/coach contact information will be declined. References must include email contact information as they will be verified.
- Grants applications for tuition must provide a copy of the student’s school or college tuition statement/invoice. This document must state it is an invoice. The invoice/ statement must have the following information on it:
– School name,
– Student name,
– Student identification number,
– Year or term tuition is due for,
– Balance Due, must state what the balance due is for. - At this time we are accepting one grant application per family for grants between $35 and $750.
- Businesses will have 3 months to cash the grant check. After 3 months un-cashed checks will automatically be voided. If a grant check needs to be re-issued the requester will need to reach out to the Treasurer by email. There may be a charge for reissued checks
