Board members Monica Fisher and Patti Cross will oversee the Advisory Committee.
What’s the purpose of our Advisory Committee?
The Advisory Committee is a volunteer group formed to give advice and support to the MN Fundraising Initiative’s board of directors.
Some of the ways that the Advisory Committee will contribute to the organization are:
Help plan which stadiums/events we would like to volunteer at.
Help set up standards and procedures.
Look into possible grants that the group would like to focus on.
What’s the difference between an Advisory Committee and the Board of Directors?
Unlike the Board of Directors, the Advisory Committee doesn’t have formal legal responsibilities or decision-making authority and can’t issue directives.
The Advisory Committee will make recommendations and provide information and materials to the Board of Directors.
Do I need to be a volunteer to be part of the Advisory Committe?
No, you do not need to be a current volunteer to be part of the Advisory Committee.
How much time commitment will the committee take?
The committee will meet every 3 months. The meetings will last 1-2 hours.
